As part of the Shanghai Expo 2010, on 1 September, the Leading Brands of Spain Forum will organise the Day of the Leading Brands of Spain in China. This event aims to promote the Spanish business community through the participation of leading prestigious Spanish brands. The event will be held in the Spain Pavilion and will provisionally be attended by Pau Gasol, as Honorary Ambassador of the Spain Brand. During the day, individuals or institutions that have greatly assisted Spanish brands to penetrate and consolidate in the Chinese market will be named as ´Friends of the Spain Brand in China’, a public recognition for these efforts. These awards will be decided by a panel of judges specially convened for this purpose and will be organised into different categories.
This day will be a unique opportunity for Spanish brands to promote an image of quality, excellent and prestige through the image projected by the leading brands attending and with interests in China. In this spectacular backdrop, in which the Spanish government has made, and will continue to make, significant efforts, the brands may also carry out their own promotional activities with their target market. Spain cannot let the potential of the image and prestige of its brands slip by and these, in turn, must take advantage of an event of the scale of the Expo and a spectacular backdrop such as the Spain Pavilion. This event will be an excellent platform to promote the image of the participating brands and will also strengthen the image of Spanish products and services in the Chinese market. Only the leading Spanish brands with an image of quality and prestige will be invited to participate in this exclusive event. They will be joined by a select public who have an interest in the brands, such as brand partners, customers or distributors, the specialist media and Chinese government dignitaries.
The Shanghai Expo 2010 has fulfilled the great expectations in place for an event on such an unprecedented international scale, an event that China hopes will be even more successful than the 2008 Olympics. On a site that is forecast to receive more than 70 million visitors, the Spain Pavilion has become a point of reference and an icon and expects to receive 5.5 million visitors.
This event will take place in the leading Spanish brands’ showroom/store, a strategic area in the pavilion occupied by 15 of our associated brands, conveying an image of excellence of Spanish products and brands. This showroom has been a great success in terms of both sales and visitor numbers.
