Three Leading Brands of Spain Forum companies – Repsol, Nutrexpa and Calvo – were acknowledged at the 4th ESADE Brand Centre Awards, presented in Madrid on 4 June for the purpose of fostering the effectiveness of strong, consistent and competitive brands. These three award-winning brands in 2009 are part of a long list of Forum companies that have received these acknowledgements in different categories in previous editions.
Repsol was the most triumphant on the night, receiving awards in the Internationalisation category and the Grand Prize at the event. The members of the jury gave particular mention to the international importance and wide reach of the Repsol brand that has contributed to, among other actions, the sponsorship of sports such as motorcycle racing.
This award brings Repsol into the same league as BBVA, Movistar and Santander, who were awarded the Grand Prize in the three previous editions.
Calvo, in turn, received an award in the category of Brand Repositioning, with the jury recognising the company’s efforts to compete and differentiate itself from distribution brands by turning to innovative products focusing on health and to very original advertising campaigns.
The Cola Cao brand also received an award in the category of Long-Term Track Record, which acknowledged the emblematic nature of the brand in the domestic market, to the extent that it has even become a generic name for the product.
In addition to Forum member companies, the winners’ list of this fourth edition of the event was completed with awards to R brands in the category of Low-Cost Brand Development; Bankinter for Corporate Logos; and MRV in the B2B Award.
As with previous editions, Miguel Otero, General Manager of the Leading Brands of Spain Forum participated in the jury.
