In its edition of Saturday 31 January, the business daily Expansión published a double-spread article containing the conclusions of the debate held on Spanish brands in the Brazil market. Attended by leading experts in this market, the event was organised by the Leading Brands of Spain Forum and held at the Interbrand head offices.
The main conclusion of the experts assembled by the Forum was that the reality of Spain and its brands are relatively unknown in Brazil and that we need to strengthen this perception in South America’s biggest market.
“Brazil is the powerhouse of Latin America and stands out being the emerging economy with the brightest future”, stated Mr Ramón Casilda as chair, in his opening speech, describing the country as, “strategic for Spanish companies, but, until recently, a relatively explored territory”. Mr Casilda is chairman of the Latin American Relations Committee of the Spanish Confederation of Directors and Executives (Spanish abbreviation – CEDE).
Other participants in the debate included Marcos Madureira, from Grupo Santander; Javier Pérez, from Mapfre; Ángel Calleja, from Garrigues; Pedro Pellitero, from Nova Internacional; Antonio del Corro, from the Brazil-Spain Chamber of Commerce; Diego Barceló, from Comunicación Iberoamericana; Raúl Peralba, from Positioning Systems; and Alfredo Fraile, from Interbrand.
