The New Generation of Spanish Diplomats Immersed in the Spain Brand
On 12th June the Leading Brands of Spain Forum organised, for the fourth consecutive year, a one-day conference on the Spain Brand at the Diplomatic School. The newly-qualified Spanish diplomats followed with interest this traditional event, which explained the role of leading companies in the creation of the image of a country from two perspectives: on the one hand, the vision of the experts, a more overall and educational viewpoint; and on the other, the experience of the leading companies themselves, represented by Iberdrola, Miguel Torres, Cortefiel and Pescanova.

Selling Spain’s commercial image
William Chislett, British journalist, analyst and collaborator of the Elcano Royal Institute, analysed the current state of Spain’s international image, from a commercial point of view, in the El País newspaper. He concluded that there is still an important gap between the perception and the reality of Spanish products and services. In the article, published in the opinion pages of the El País newspaper on 28th December 2007, Chislett supported the Spanish Ambassador Brands project, promoted by the Forum. He wrote that it was an ideal vehicle to develop a co-branding strategy between the commercial brands and the national image.
