What is the MAPI programme?
As a part of its mission to support Spanish companies whose corporate strategies include striving to make the brand their main asset for competitiveness and international growth, the Leading Brands of Spain Association (AMRE) has devised a programme to provide support to Spanish Brands of High International Scope (MAPIs, using the Spanish abbreviation). These are brands whose track record suggests that they will attain standing and/or recognition at international level in the future, more specifically, the same position as the full members of AMRE.
These Brands of High International Scope will be linked to AMRE by signing a collaboration agreement. This agreement will allow them to participate in the Association’s activities, and a support programme will be set up to boost and consolidate their internationalisation processes. Through this programme, companies with a Brands of High International Scope will receive support in order to consistently speed up their trajectory, allowing their potential to be fully realised. The companies will receive advice on developing and managing their brands. In addition to this, a Unit will be set up to convey the expertise and knowledge of Spanish brands that have already achieved recognition internationally.
To date, brands such as Roberto Verino and El Caballo have been linked to AMRE through this programme.
In the coming months, AMRE will develop the programme’s basic lines of support for MAPIs. These will focus primarily on advice in matters such as brand management and development, corporate intangible assets, the protection of industrial property rights, and the design and development of internationalisation expansion plans. Moreover, a Unit for the Transfer of Expertise and Knowledge (UTEC) will be set up. This unit will run training seminars on the different topics mentioned.
