In 2005 The Leading Brands of Spain Forum launched the project “Spain Brand Honorary Ambassadors”.
It is a proprietary initiative from the Leading Brands of Spain Association with consent from Spain’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation fulfilling one of its main generic goals: international promotion of Spain image and the “Spain Brand”.
The selection of the Spain Brand Honorary Ambassadors recognizes people or institutions that have contributed most to strengthen the image of Spain abroad during their whole professional background and are awarded biennially.
Those awards are given in seven different categories:
- Institutional Relations
- Management
- Social Action
- Communication
- Culture
- Sport
- Science and Innovation
The Spain Brand Honorary Ambassadors are selected by a jury integrated by representatives of the business, institutional and international environments.
In october 2008 the third promotion of Spain Brand Honorary Ambassadors was elected. Its award ceremony will take place in 2009.
Both previous promotions received their awards in ceremonies that took place in 2005 and 2007.
